Over Susanne Baars

Met haar bedrijf SocialGenomics MOONSHOT werkt Susanne aan het bouwen van cutting-edge technologie om mensen met genetische ziektes en kanker toegang te geven tot de support en zorg die ze nodig hebben op wereldschaal.
Als jong meisje heeft zij geluisterd naar alle verhalen van haar vader, die arts is gespecialiseerd in genetica. De zin ‘hadden we het maar geweten, dan…’, kwam altijd naar voren. Haar vader legde haar uit dat we door kennis over genetica levens kunnen redden. Gemotiveerd om deze kennis te ontsluiten is zij afgestudeerd als Neurowetenschapper. Zij is vervolgens (stamcel) onderzoek gaan doen op Harvard, de World Health Organization en Peking University. Haar doel was altijd om een van wereld’s meest dodelijke ziektes de wereld uit te helpen. In 2013 ontdekte zij echter de kracht van technologie om levensreddende informatie beschikbaar te maken voor iedereen. Om dit te realiseren heeft zij SocialGenomics MOONSHOT initiatief en de Global Human Genome Foundation opgericht.
Haar modus operandi is authentiek, inspirerend en hoopgevend en raakt je in het hart. Op de events waar zij spreekt wordt haar verhaal als beste beoordeeld. Het is speciaal om naar haar te luisteren omdat Susanne in levende lijve laat zien dat we het onmogelijke mogelijk kunnen maken door geloof, overtuiging en doorzettingsvermogen.
