Stanley Hainsworth grew up in a small town in Western Kentucky, right between Possum Trot and Monkey's Eyebrow. After pursuing an acting career for some years he decided that he would apply all he'd learned to a new trade design. He spent several years at Nike as a Creative Director working on everything from hangtags to annual reports to the Olympics before traveling to Denmark where he joined the Lego Company as their Global Creative Director. There he directed a total visual overhaul of the Lego brand from top to bottom, including packaging, the web, retail and brand stores. Stanley brought his artistic talents to our team at Starbucks when he returned to the U.S. and thought it would be fun to work for a company named after the first mate in "Moby Dick".After nearly twenty years working for three incredible brands Nike, Lego and Starbucks Stanley decided to go off and start his own creative company. The name above the front door is Tether.Walk in the front door and there is the Tether creative gallery where Tether designed products are sold as well as cool, curated products and artwork. Busily working amongst and above the gallery space are the Tether creatives, which comprise the full service Tether agency branding, advertising, retail, digital, products, entertainment, packaging. Before Tether Stanley lead the creative aspects of Starbucks Coffee Company and all associated brands including Hear Music, Tazo Tea, and Ethos Water. He and his team of designers, illustrators, web designers, writers and program managers were constantly challenged to find new ways to connect with customers in unexpected, brand-enhancing ways. Stanley's creative influence and responsibility extended to the look of new products, packaging systems, seasonal promotions (in-store and out-of-store materials), brand campaigns and collateral materials. His creative influence touched our customers visually, and he strives to evoke the emotion customers experience when enjoying Starbucks coffee.Stanley has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre and film. He is a former board member of AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts), a featured speaker on Brand Design worldwide and the recipient of awards from ID Magazine, Communication Arts, The Library of Congress, Graphis, Type Directors Club, HOW International, HOW Regional, NW Design Awards, PRINT International, AIGA National, AIGA Regional, Rosies, POP Times, and Communication Arts Illustration, Retail Interiors (Best International Store and Best Retail Theater) and MAPIC (Best Retail Store).A true fine arts "Renaissance man", Stanley is a singer/songwriter, author, actor (film, television and stage in Los Angeles, New York City and regional theaters), director and producer. He was a co-founder and director at the Rita Hayworth Theatre in Los Angeles as well as a founder and producer of BOOM Productions in New York City.Stanley speaks fluent Spanish and serviceable Danish. In his spare time he loves to cycle, run marathons and spend time with his wife and five beautiful children.About Starbucks
