Shinji Takagi is Professor of Economics at the Graduate School of Economics, Osaka University, where he has taught since 1990. Shinji Takagi is Professor of Economics at the Graduate School of Economics, Osaka University, where he has taught since 1990. He has held numerous professional appointments over the years, including: Economist at the International Monetary Fund (1983-90); Senior Economist, Japanese Ministry of Finance (1992-94); Visiting Professor of Economics, Yale University (2000-01); Advisor in the IMF Independent Evaluation Office (2002-06); macro-financial expert at the Asian Development Bank (2007-08; 2009-10); and visiting fellow at the ADB Institute (2007-09). He is a specialist in international monetary economics and is the author of nearly 150 publications, including books, articles in international journals and book chapters. Mr. Takagi has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Rochester.
