Daniel Mizere is an expert in crisis communication and works as an author, political advisor, and communication strategist. Central to his work is one question: how do leaders maintain control through crisis communication when a crisis erupts?
In 2023, he published ‘The Language of Leaders: How Top Politicians Communicate‘. As a spokesperson and strategic advisor in the House of Representatives, Daniel advised members of parliament and government officials on media appearances, crisis files, and politically sensitive issues in the hectic dynamics of politics in The Hague. Previously, he guided, among others, aldermen and mayors in crisis communication and media training as an advisor.
Additionally, Daniel is a reserve officer in the 1 Civil and Military Interaction Command of the Royal Netherlands Army and has been deployed multiple times both domestically and internationally. This military experience forms an important foundation for his approach to crisis communication: clear thinking, making choices, and communicating under pressure.
In 2026, his second book, Steering in the Storm: Ten Lessons for Communication in Times of Crisis, will be published.
In his lectures, Daniel demonstrates how leaders maintain control in crisis situations where time is scarce, interests clash, and public attention is inevitable. His lectures provide sharp insights and concrete tools for leaders and communication professionals who must perform under pressure. Daniel studied English, French, and Dutch linguistics at the Catholic University of Leuven and journalism and media studies at the Free University of Brussels.
