David Salyers is best known as one of the original two marketing executives at Chick-fil-A, where he spent 37 years shaping one of the most admired brands in the world.
Rising from his very first office—a mobile trailer attached to an airfreight warehouse in Georgia—David Slayer witnessed and contributed to the company’s extraordinary growth from humble beginnings to a multibillion-dollar global organisation with over 2,500 locations.
As Vice President of Marketing, Growth and Hospitality, David was instrumental in creating enduring strategies, including the iconic Cow Campaign, which became a cultural phenomenon and a masterclass in brand storytelling. More importantly, he helped cultivate a business culture built on servant leadership, generosity and customer delight—principles that transformed Chick-fil-A into a benchmark for sustainable growth and brand loyalty.
Beyond his corporate career, David has channelled his expertise into mentoring leaders, advising start-ups and serving on the boards of banks, businesses and non-profits. He is a founding partner and board member of ROAM, ADDO Worldwide, and The HUB, among others, and co-founded Champion Tribes to invest in the next generation of leaders. His work has been recognised with multiple accolades, including the University of Georgia Terry College of Business Distinguished Alumni Award, where he continues to play a vital role in leadership development as Chairman of the Dean’s Advisory Council.
An author as well as a practitioner, David co-wrote Remarkable!, a bestselling book on building brands and cultures that endure. In it, he distils the lessons learned from decades inside one of America’s most purpose-driven companies, offering practical insights for organisations of any size.
Today, David speaks internationally to inspire leaders, teams and entrepreneurs to create organisations defined not just by profit, but by purpose and meaning. With warmth, insight and first-hand experience, he equips audiences with the principles to spark growth, strengthen culture and unlock lasting competitive advantage.
