Oona writes for various media and publishes the annual home report of the Zukunftsinstitut – about the future of building and living. As a trend consultant, she has worked for companies like Unilever, Beiersdorf, and Deutsche Bank. She travels to conferences from Finland to Portugal, from England to Slovenia. She has been a speaker at the IAA, ISPO, the Female Future Festival, and even at a midwives’ congress. The companies she works with long-term are found in the residential sector, construction industry, or interior design, but also in urban planning and the real estate industry. No project, event, or stage is too small (or too large).
She is a proud holder of an Irish passport, has lived and worked in various cities and countries across Europe, hitchhiked through Africa, and learned boxing and surfing on the other side of the 50-year mark. She was a journalist for the English Observer and made television films for Central Television. Oona currently lives in the Future Evolution House on the outskirts of Vienna, which she co-designed and built. With her husband Matthias Horx, (at times) with her adult children Tristan and Julian, and with her crazy dog named Bubbles.
