1. Long-term thinking in a short-term world

How can you learn to think long-term in a short-term world? In her lecture, Aniek discusses why it is so important that we learn to make decisions based on the long term. Over the past few decades, we have built a short-term world, but it is not too late to reverse that process. What are some inspiring examples and what can you do yourself?

2. Lessons for change

Aniek combines her experience in the national and international climate movement with her background in transition studies and shares practical lessons for change that anyone can put into practice.

3. The crisis of imagination

It is perhaps one of the greatest crises of our time: the crisis of imagination. As humans, we seem incapable of imagining a different future. How can we learn to think about the future in a different way? And how can that imagination inform our choices in the present?

4. Climate, despair and the role of the younger generation

The younger generation suffers from ‘climate paralysis’. How crazy is that? Aniek explains why having active hope is not only a responsibility, but also a remedy for our paralysing concerns about the state of the world. This lecture was developed in collaboration with the Jane Goodall Institute.

5. Valuable management based on broad prosperity

Broad prosperity is a hot topic in The Hague. We all want to create as much prosperity as possible for as many people (and plants and animals) as possible. But how? What exactly is broad prosperity, and more importantly, what is it not?
