Rachid Sefrioui is the Managing Director of Finaventures, a venture capital firm he founded in 1999. His passion is growing businesses, leading them from budding ideas up to massive successes. Rachid loves the energy of startups.
In the last 20 years, he has backed over 30 startups and growth companies, among which he was the Founding CEO of an 18-company integration and merger to create a Regional Technology leader. He’s had a $700M IPO on Nasdaq, an IPO on the Taiwan Exchange, numerous Stars over $20 and $50 million acquired by Global companies, a number of Runners over $5 million, and a couple of Duds. His ambition and drive have been apparent since childhood – Rachid’s first entrepreneurial venture, at age 14, was a home-delivery video rental service he ran from his bedroom and delivered on his Solex moped to his customers every evening after school.
Rachid is multi-cultural, both in the U.S., Europe and MENA, and speaks fluent English, French and Arabic. He’s earned his stripes early in his career by working for McKinsey & Co and for financial houses such as Bowco Investment and Wafatrust Credit Agricole Indosuez. He earned a degree in management & operations research from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where he endured endless freezing winters before he moved to sunny California.
Rachid is the charismatic face of Finaventures. He travels the world as a Public Speaker to spread the word about Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Anchoring at conferences and motivation seminars. But he’s more than a chief evangelist – Rachid is a sought-after consultant as the “big picture” guy with a detail-oriented mind, turning laser-like focus to solve complex strategic and operational problems. He has the skills, knowledge, and experience to back up the message.
In the little spare time he has, Rachid blogs about his random thoughts, writes Venture Thrillers published on Amazon and hits one-down-the-fairway at golf courses in visiting cities with his local buddies.
