Monica Deza is one of the most recognized Spanish executives nationally and internationally with over twenty years of experience in the field of technology, communication and marketing. Deza has extensive management experience in multinational companies and in the designing of strategic business plans, especially in business environments related to innovation. She has worked for the most important clients at national as well as international level (Microsoft, Movistar ,BBVA, Acciona, Mapfre , Coca-Cola , L’orèal, among others… ) and is a pioneer in digital marketing and new technologies.
Deza currently holds the position of Counselor and VP of Innovation at McCann Worldgroup Iberia (Spain and Portugal), the leader communication group in Spain and one out of three world´s most important communication Groups, in addition to being the only Spanish company in the top ten of the prestigious Gunn Report (ranking of the world’s most creative agencies) for two consecutive years. Furthermore, Deza is Counselor and member of the Strategy Committee at APD (Association for the Advancement of Management), President of AINACE (American Association of Neuroscience Economics and Communication) and Chairman of the NMBSA for Spain (European Neuromarketing & Business Association).
Previously, Deza was CEO in Spain of the media group of agency Mediabrands (IPG group), Managing Director at Universal Media and funding-partner and vice president of the Mobile Marketing Association, Spanish Chapter. She has just been chosen in the Ranking 2012 Top 100 Women Leaders in Spain (in Innovation Category) carried out by Women & Cia Portal, honor that also held in 2011 (in Women Directors Category). Additionally, she was named one of the 100 best directives 2010 by Samhoud Consulting, awarded Best Director in 2008 i(Directive Plus Awards – large Company category) and was named one of the 10 most prestigious advertising specialists in Spain (Consultores Group – 2008).
Deza is also closely involved in entrepreneurial projects specifically related to new technologies. She is counselor and member of Avalon-the Expert Network, digital start-up launched in 2011 which is currently the largest online experts network in Spain and Latin America. Alongside all this, she is also partner of the Ideas4all International open innovation platform.
Besides Dezas numerous positions in businesses, she also regularly has an active teaching role at important business schools. Currently she is leading the “Innovation” academic department at ESIC Digital Executive Program and was previously the Technical Director of the Master: Innovation and New Trends in Advertising (UEM – Madrid European University, in 2011).
Deza is also a regular contributor to various analog and digital media as well as author of the books “Consumers Nomads: The Age of Mobile Marketing” (Biblos 2007), “Personal Branding: Employability through the Personal Best” (2010), “Your brain is Everything “(Editorial Platform 2011) and “Panambi Retá”: the Cave of the Butterflies (Editorial Platform 2012).
Deza is a member of ICA, and graduate in Good Governance of Societies, she is therefore interested in independent counseling advisor positions.
