About Marga Hoek

Marga Hoek is an international thought leader, former three-time CEO, Board Member, Chair and boardroom adviser. With her extensive international experience at the intersection of business, technology, sustainability, economics, and geopolitics, she helps organisations and leaders understand which developments will shape the future and how they can gain a strategic advantage from them.

Marga is the founder of the Business for Good philosophy. She demonstrates how societal impact and business success can reinforce each other and how major transitions create new markets, business models, and growth opportunities. In 2010, she co-founded De Groene Zaak with a group of CEOs. In 2012, she founded Het Groene Brein, a network of scientists that uses innovation to accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy.

In addition to Business for Good, Marga often speaks about Tech for Good. Technology not only changes the way organisations operate and do business but also creates new opportunities to address societal and economic challenges. Her book, Tech for Good, was awarded a Golden Award, as was The Trillion Dollar Shift, in which she describes the opportunities of the new economy.

In recent years, Marga has focused increasingly on Future Economy and Future Leadership. Which economic, technological, and societal developments will shape the future of organisations? And what is required of leaders who need to make decisions today for a rapidly changing world?

Geopolitics and sovereignty are also important and growing themes in her work. Strategic dependencies, shifting power relations, and increasing uncertainty have direct consequences for businesses. Marga approaches these developments constructively and entrepreneurially: how can organisations enhance their strategic resilience and create new opportunities in a changing world?

“Major changes bring uncertainty, but at the same time create new opportunities for organisations that look ahead, connect, and dare to act.”

Marga connects economy, technology, sustainability, geopolitics, and leadership in a way that makes complex issues clear and relevant. Her keynotes are always tailor-made and based on the current situation, the audience, and the strategic context of the client. Besides keynotes, she is available for panels, event chairing, and contributions to complex multidisciplinary issues.

In early 2027, Marga’s new book will be published, in which she further elaborates her vision on the future economy and the changing landscape for organisations and leaders.
