Throughout his career, Arnoud Raskin has always questioned the why: why are we doing this and why does this work? This inquiry led Arnoud to seek out how to truly make a difference, which is how he became a social entrepreneur and founded the Mobile School foundation (VZW Mobile School). This organization builds mobile schools and develops educational materials to provide basic education and preventive work with children in vulnerable situations. Mobile School thus responds to their needs: boosting their self-esteem, discovering their talents, and empowering them to better survive in their challenging environment.
With Mobile School, Arnoud Raskin works with street children in slums around the world. This experience opened his eyes to the immense potential of these children and made him realize that the skills they use every day to survive can be a valuable source of inspiration for managers who need to keep their businesses afloat in a competitive environment.

In his 20 years of experience and through research on the streets, Arnoud discovered that these young people possess a lot of power. They constantly find themselves again on a daily basis, they are able to cope with a continuous reality in crisis and translate that into opportunities; they are true street winners. Arnoud was inspired by this and started the company StreetwiZe, which translated the Street Skills of these young people into unconventional leadership training for companies. In this way, StreetwiZe authentically enhances positive opportunity focus, proactive creativity, resilience and agility, and internal cohesion in teams. Thus, StreetwiZe strengthens companies and their employees.
The profits from StreetwiZe are 100% reinvested into the educational projects of Mobile School. StreetwiZe has since built an impressive portfolio consisting of many small and large, national and international companies and organizations, both in the profit and non-profit sectors.
After more than 15 years of gathering insights as the leader of MobileSchool.org, Arnoud has built a globally spread reputation in social entrepreneurship. He is a member of the Ashoka network that brings together the so-called ‘Change Maker Leaders’ from around the world.
In this keynote, Arnoud tells the story of ‘the why’ and ‘the how’ he started as a student-entrepreneur at the design school with a mission to change the world.
