To achieve the Law degree was the first step for Alejandro Touriño. After that, he completed a Master degree in International Law and Relations at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and another Master in Legal Practice at the Legal Practice School at the same university. He has several postgraduate titles granted by the University of Brighton, the WIPO Academy and the Instituto de Empresa, all of them related to Comparative Law, Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law.
As a professional in law, he is nowadays one of the partners at the Information Technologies department at ECIJA Law firm. He practices giving advice and council to national and international clients about questions related to entertainment law and new technologies. Focus is made around intellectual property, software engagements, domain names, Internet legal regulation and social networks.
Alejandro combines his professional dedication with teaching. He is a teacher in several universities and business schools, national and international, such as the Instituto de Empresa, Bucerius Law School, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad Europea, etc. He collaborates also by writing articles in different legal press and he is referee in several institutions and organizations about technology issues.
In 2013 he was recognized as one of the most valuable lawyers in Spain concerning Information Technology by Best Lawyers. He is member of the Colegio de Abogados de Madrid, member of the European Alliance of New Technology ‘World IT Lawyers”, member of the DENAE (Spanish Entertainment Law Association), of the ENATIC (Spanish ICT Law Experts Association) and of the Board Comitee of the Spanish chapter of CSA (Cloud Security Alliance).
