Born in 1980, Juan Merodio is one of the most important experts in Digital Marketing and Social Networks in Spain. He frequently gives lectures at international congresses and is also a teacher at the most prestigious universities and business schools.
Since he was a child, Juan dreamt of becoming a telecommunications engineer. He finished his studies and could finally put all of it into practice: developing interactive apps and working with online marketing.
Merodio likes to learn by himself. He has a master degree in Commercial Management and Marketing from the IDE-CESEM and is a self-made entrepreneur. He is the founder of Grupo Ellas, a company focused on creating websites dedicated to women in different specialities (tourism, cars, education, news, beauty and fashion, jobs…). Furthermore, he is also the founder and partner of Marketing Surfers, a marketing agency 2.0.. Juan Merodio is director and partner of InvierteME, a network of entrepreneurs and investors and founder of Emprende Finance, a consultancy firm which helps entrepreneurs gain financial aid for their projects.
For his professional path on the Internet he has received several prizes, like “Mejor Idea del Año 2006” from the magazine Actualidad Económica (Best Idea of the Year 2006) and “Young Social Entrepreneur” from the Universidad Europea de Madrid.
Furthermore, Juan Merodio has another passion: writing. He has already published six books related to marketing 2.0 applied to companies and he works together with several magazines and websites specialized in online marketing. Merodio has his own blog (www.juanmerodio.com) and his latest book, “Trabaja con red” (Work with networks) is a manual explaining how to find a job or make a transition through social networks.
He teaches at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, INESDI, CESMA and at the Instituto de la Empresa (IE). He also offers lectures at several companies such as Grupo Bassat Ogilvy, IFEMA and IIR.
