Joop Hazenberg is a Dutch writer and advisor. He is based in Brussels where he specialises in European climate and energy politics.
Joop has profound experience with media and communications – in articles, on television, in public speeches – explaining the facts of change in a globalised economy and an integrated Europe. He published six books, the latest of which is on climate action that consumers, businesses and governments can take to save the world.
His active involvement with society was evident in his earlier functions: private secretary to the liberal faction Leader in the Dutch Parliament, policy advisor EU Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and political editor at the daily De Pers. Joop founded a think-tank for millennials called Prospect and is still regularly publishing opinion articles in Dutch newspapers.
