Juan Tugores (Palma de Mallorca, 1953) has a degree on Economy and another one in Law. He has a PhD in Economy and he is professor at the Faculty of Economy and Enterprise at Universitat de Barcelona, where he has been teaching since 1977.
Juan Tugores was rector at Universitat de Barcelona between 2001 and 2005 and, previously, among other positions, he was Dean of the Faculty of Economy (1994 – 1998), Vicerector of Exterior Cooperation and Third Cicle (1998 – 1999). At the same time, he was president at the Comité de Normativa y Ética Profesional del Colegio de Economistas de Catalunya (Commitee on Standars and Ethics at the Catalan College of Economists) between 1999 and 2001. Since 2007 he leads the Master in Internationalisation at the Universitat de Barcelona.
Juan Tugores is the author of some books and articles, all related to International Economy, the globalisation challenges, the crisis, the new realities and standards that are been built and their economic and business, social and politic implications.
