Jan Dolák is a museologist and a teacher at the Masaryk University, Chairholder of UNESCO Chair of Museology and World Heritage. He teaches collection management, management and marketing of museums and the history of Czech museums.
He was born in 1962, studied history and museology at Brno’s University, then became manager of a number of Czech museums. He has been working at Masaryk University since 2001 and is a visiting lecturer both at home and abroad.
He was a member of Executive board of Czech Association of Museums and Galleries, and during two years the President of the association. He is also a member of the International Council of Museums, and is involved in committees ICOFOM and ICTOP. He has organized international conferences, is a member of the advisory board to the journal Museologia Brunnensis.
He is currently, preparing an extensive work about Communication of Archaeology. He is interested in documentation of present time, documentation of minorities and archaeological exhibitions.
