Ger Wiersma has studied social sciences, management and marketing, theology and philosophy at the University of Amsterdam, Tilburg and Nijmegen. He was further educated in acting and scriptwriting.
Between 1978-1983 Wiersma has worked as a lector at the School for Business and Management at University Nijmegen and as a lector of education at Tilburg University. In 1980 he has published the book ‘Counseling methods’.
From 1984 until 1987 he has performed as an international actor and model for documentaries, commercials like Dreft, Boss etc.; as well as in dramaseries and small films like “The Man Without a Number”.
In the beginning of the 1990s he has worked successfully as an independent TV and film producer.
Since 1993 he has been actively working in the consulting business as Partner and CO CEO for SCMF Business Consultants B.V., which focuses on strategy consulting for expanding and growth for midle-sized companies and multinationals such as Philips, TNO, OCE, Vattenfall and Bombardier.
Furthermore he is cofounder and member of the Thinktank for members of the Dutch Parliament on global and European social and economic issues.
Besides, from 2005 he is invited as a guest speaker at forums, conferences (e.g. Dutch-German) and universities on issues like international coproductions, internationalisation, the Euro, Europe and digitalisation. At the conference in Berlin about Sustainability and Responsability he was a speaker.
Wiersma’s background and his experiences are intense and diverse. He has been in leading managing positions in different companies for 25 years.
As a very versatile personality, Wiersma is specialised in media, politics and different areas of entrepreneurship and branches and he can combine all three in his intriguing lectures.
