About Cyril Viart
Technology enthusiast, Cyril Vart started his career in 1982, freelancing in databases applications development and the video gaming industry (Loriciel). He quickly specialized in product management and marketing, noticeably working at Evolution France (French GEM/OS2 word processor editor), IBM, then Lotus Development, where he was in charge of Lotus SmartSuite for several years.
He is hired by Lotus Development Corp (Boston, MA) in 1994 as Senior Product Director, then in 1996 by AltaVista Search as Marketing Director, until Compaq’s buyout in 1998. He then joins Ziff Davies Inc. to manage ZDUniversity, an e-learning site, until he returns in France in 1999 to become Wanadoo Portal’s VP Strategy and Marketing.
Before joining faberNovel in June 2008, he spent 4 years with EMAP Plc., a leading consumer magazines publisher, as VP Development. He mainly managed the group digital activities, and several corporate level development projects (TV market, online subscriptions, Closer launch opportunity, corporate planning…).
