Arie van Bennekum has a background that is characterized by enormous diversity. This diversity is reflected in his personal presentation, empathy and ability to respond to the audience, regardless of topic, type of reaction or dynamics. He started his career in 1987 in the IT as a programmer. Prior to that he has been active in the care and has been a peloton commander in the country’s force. After a few years in the IT, Arie found out that he did not feel logical about the method, phasing, interaction model, etc. where he was involved in his assignments. In 1994 he moved to the world called Agile today. This step is typical. The transition was to a workform that is very pragmatic and in addition to its structure. Arie has been the founder of this global flow in the world of software development with 16 others (since February 2001). From this role and expertise, Arie often speaks at congresses in Norway and abroad.
After his experience as a developer, designer, etc., Arie van Bennekum is active as coach, consultant, trainer, guest speaker, chairman of the Agile Consortium International thought leader and senior consultant at PMtD, assessor at the IAFen lecturer at the Rotterdam University. In addition, Arie has deepened in Group Dynamics. Because facilitated workshops form a core technique in Agile development methods, it felt like him as a natural development process. Since 1994, he has specialized in facilitation and has been Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) and assessor -CPF for the International Association for Facilitators since 1998.
