Dr. Jean-Claude Morand started his career with a position of Executive Director of Finance at the age of 24, and then he moved to the high-tech arena. After many years spent to Digital Equipment Europe, he evangelized his colleagues of STMicroelectronics in Geneva in as Director of the innovation in Marketing from 1999 to end of 2005.
Dr. Morand is the author of five books covering various aspects of the E-Business: ‘Cyberstrat’ published in 1997, ‘Marketing 1to1 and Internet’, ‘Tourism and Internet’ in 1999, ‘RSS, Blogs: un nouvel outil pour le management’ with M21 Editions and with the same publisher last June ‘Tourisme 2.0’. He is passionate of new technologies and more particularly by their added value to company management. Its research orientations cover not only RSS, but also the applications of the ‘semantic Web’ and other XML standards. He was an active contributor of the Rosettanet consortium being alternate board member. He also chaired an e-Commerce expert group for the European semiconductor industry association (ESIA) and has been member of the board of ISOC in Geneva. Jean-Claude won several awards in France and Italy in recognition of his IT visions. He has an impressive record of public speeches covering various aspects of ICT.
His interest for Tourism came from the fact that his was Professional ski instructor and city board member at La Clusaz, a winter sport resort.
Jean-Claude Morand holds a Doctorate in management (Information System) from the University of Grenoble. He is currently teaching marketing at Geneva University of applied sciences (HEG). He his also maintaining a website since 1997 as well as a blog covering marketing and new technologies.
