He teaches Managerial Economics, Macroeconomics and China Within the World on the MBA, EMBA and Executive Development Programmes at CEIBS. He was the Project Manager of the Europe China Business and Management Training Project and Project Coordinator of an Asia Link project. He also acts as the Faculty Advisor for the BGRC conferences.
Before joining CEIBS, Dr. Ramasamy was the acting Director of Nottingham University Business School at the University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus. He also directed the Centre for Europe Asia Business Research, a research centre established to promote research within the Business School and to facilitate joint research with academics from the UK. Previously, Dr. Ramasamy was on the faculties at Massey University in New Zealand and University of Macau.
Dr. Ramasamy received his Ph.D degree from University of Leicester and his Master of Social Sciences from the University of Macau, both in Economics. He has been teaching at higher institutes of learning since 1988. He has had wide experience teaching students of different backgrounds and culture in China, Ghana, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand and the UK.
Dr. Ramasamy's research interest focuses on Asian economies, Foreign Direct Investment, Corporate Social Responsibility and International Business Strategy. His research has been published in journals such as Journal of World Business, The World Economy, Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Bank Marketing, Journal of Asia Pacific Economy, Journal of Applied Economics, Journal of Business Research, Technovation, among others.
Outside academia, Dr. Ramasamy directs a training programme for young people. Foundations for Leadership and Moral Empowerment (FLAME) brings together graduate students, young professionals and businesses to create a conducive environment for teenagers to realise their true potential in building a better world.
