Jean-Claude Trichet
Economist, former President of the ECB
Jean-Claude Trichet is undoubtedly one of the most powerful figures in the European and global economy. President of the all-powerful European Central Bank until November 1, 2011, this graduate of the ENA directed the interest rate policy of the ECB. After studying engineering in the mid-1960s, graduating from the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy, he shifted to the field of administration by graduating from the Institute of Political Studies of Paris.
