Tijs Rotmans is an inspiring speaker on the subject of Pricing. Tijs takes everyone into the wonderful world of Pricing. What was once perhaps not a very sexy topic, Tijs has turned into a true art! Sparkling, with anecdotes, surprising practical examples, hilarious videos, but with a solid academic foundation. Tijs is Managing Partner at The Pricing Company BV. Before joining The Pricing Company in 2008, Tijs worked at KPN as Manager Pricing for the Consumer Market. In addition to his consulting work, he is an Adjunct Professor at Tias School for Business and Society. In 2014, 2019, and 2021, he received the Best Teacher Award for his courses in the Master of Marketing. Furthermore, he inspires others through Pricing Masterclasses for NIMA. From 2015 to 2021, he was among the best of NIMA with these masterclasses. Since the 2021-2022 edition, he has been a co-author of the Marketing Facts Yearbook.
Pricing expert Tijs Rotmans has completed a Master’s degree in Physics at Leiden University. This is a common background among pricing professionals. Physicists enjoy complex issues with many angles. Pricing requires an analytical approach but also demands creativity and insight into consumer psychology. Through his broad interests, he has also developed the softer side of the profession. Of course, Tijs is also a member of the Professional Pricing Society in America, where he meets his peers. As a pricing expert, he regularly leads round tables and acts as a guest speaker.
Tijs is exceptionally capable of presenting an important, and often perceived as boring, subject in an engaging way. By combining his twenty years of practical experience with a solid academic foundation, he knows how to connect with every audience. His MBTI profile is INTJ, which fits well with what is needed for this subject: strategic thinking, strong conceptual skills, innovative, and independent. His three daughters regularly benefit from his passion for the profession. For instance, after the flea market on King’s Day, they consistently achieve the highest returns.
