Robert Verweij is a man of principles.

His experience has taught him that principles lead to better decisions than rules, protocols, or endless discussions. Inspired by thinkers such as Stephen Covey and Ray Dalio, Robert developed a practical framework of forty culinary principles. These principles originated in the professional kitchen and are rooted in physics, craftsmanship, and years of hands-on experience. To his surprise, they proved to be just as valuable in leadership, entrepreneurship, and organizational development.

After all, a professional kitchen has far more in common with other organizations than most people realize.

Every day, people work together under intense pressure toward a shared goal—usually with just a little too little space, too few people, and too little budget. Decisions are made constantly, processes are adjusted on the fly, and problems need immediate solutions.

Robert started his career as a chef at the age of fifteen. He later founded TeesT, which grew into one of the largest culinary training centers in the Netherlands. He is also a certified wine expert, television chef, entrepreneur, and founder of CookingAcademy.nl, where thousands of amateur and professional chefs learn to cook by understanding principles rather than memorizing recipes.
