Jean-François Lami was born in 1950 and graduated from Rouen Business School (1974), the Executive Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School in Chicago (United States), the Executive Program of Business Administration at Amos Tuck School (United States), and finally the Executive Program of Dartmouth College in Hanover (United States).
He has held numerous executive positions. Treasurer, then Head of Accounting, Logistics, and Purchasing at John Deere, he continued his career by advancing through the ranks to Management Controller, Production Director, and finally Financial Director for France. He also served as General Director of the Haute-Saône plant and was a member of the National Association of Financial Directors and Management Control (DFCG) as well as the Association for Management Progress (APM). Between 2003 and 2008, Jean-François Lami was a member of the board of directors of Polytech’Orléans and a member of the Institute of Industrial Engineer Techniques (ITII).
Today, as a specialist in the United States and working with Americans, he has created his own company aimed at training high-level executives to optimize their performance in Franco-American work contexts by developing their intercultural skills.
He has notably written “The American Experience, Working Differently and Effectively with Americans” (EMS Editions 2012). This book has met with considerable success among all those who work with Americans, in both the public and private sectors. Designed in three stages: learn, understand, act, the book references numerous concrete cases. The reflection is supported by recent academic research. His work is punctuated by the publication of numerous articles.
A speaker in both English and French, he lectures at major business and engineering schools.
