Engineer and Doctor in Physical Chemistry, Paul Baudry underwent a heart transplant in 2009 after a progressive heart failure lasting 15 years.
An athlete and mountaineer in his youth, he was able to resume these sports activities thanks to his new heart, when he thought he had given them up forever. He realized this rebirth by setting himself the goal of surpassing the altitude record for a heart transplant recipient, a project he accomplished in July 2013 by reaching an altitude of 6136 meters in the Andes Mountains in Bolivia.
This project, prepared and carried out collectively, significantly contributed to the reconstruction of his life.
From this human adventure, he takes away lessons about existence. He experienced the surprises that life has in store for us and the opportunities it offers when we are receptive to them.
Since his transplant, he has supported the cause of organ donation through testimony and awareness-raising actions in schools and hospitals.
