He began his professional career in scientific libraries, but in 1992 he transitioned to the sports world. He was the general director of several Dutch sports federations (chess, badminton, snow sports) until he moved to the Doping Authority in 2006. Besides his main role, Herman holds various other positions in the international anti-doping community. Herman studied Dutch law and holds a European Masters in Management of Sports Organizations.
Herman Ram delivers his stories with a combination of humor and seriousness. His arguments are interspersed with facts and anecdotes, bringing them vividly to life. Herman challenges his audience to engage in discussion and reflection. The insight into the world of doping users that he offers his audience reveals what lies behind the daily newspaper reports.
