Anne-Marie Idrac, born in 1951 in Saint-Brieuc, is a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, holds a law degree (1971), and is a former student of the National School of Administration, Simone Weil promotion (1972-1974).
Anne-Marie Idrac has diverse experience in the French public sector: leadership of administrations in the fields of housing, urban planning, and transportation; twice a member of the Government (in charge of transportation from 1993 to 1995, and of foreign trade from 2008 to 2010); elected to Parliament (1995-2002); member of the Economic and Social Council (2004-2008).
A specialist in transportation, Anne-Marie Idrac was the first and only woman President of RATP (2002-2006) and SNCF (2006-2008), where she led significant managerial reforms such as the implementation of the “minimum service”.
Her role as Secretary of State for Foreign Trade provided her with a global perspective on business activities, with deep pro-European commitments.
Anne-Marie Idrac serves as a director for several CAC 40 companies in the energy and housing sectors – Bouygues, Saint-Gobain, Total, Vallourec – and is a consultant in management and international trade.
