About Thierry Portal

From 1989 to 1992, Thierry Portal was a mission officer at the Ministry of the Environment for the Prevention of ‘major’ risks and crises. He then served as Director of local elected officials’ offices from 1994 to 2000. It was from 2001 that Thierry Portal became an independent consultant in his area of expertise.

He is currently developing his activity as a speaker based on his expertise as a consultant, his profile as an essayist, and the experience gained during meetings organized around his works. His latest book notably was the subject of a symposium organized by the National Institute for Advanced Studies in Security and Justice (INHESJ, Prime Minister) in June 2013, and a presentation at La Documentation Française in the Security Notebooks (Special Issue ‘Twenty Years of Reflections on Crises’, Central Notebook, July 2013).
