With unparalleled passion and enthusiasm, he practices his craft in his impressive bakery in Oisterwijk, Brabant, and beyond. As a jury member of Heel Holland Bakt and CupCakeCup, culinary specialist at Tijd voor MAX, and presenter of his own documentary series BROOD (2017), Robèrt has established himself as an authority, inspirer, and ambassador for bakers, home bakers, and lovers of the good life.
Robèrt was born in Oisterwijk ‘in the dough trough’: he grew up in the bakery of his grandfather and father. Despite fleeting dreams of a career as an actor, he could not help but follow his baker’s heart. However, he did not want to spend his life confined within four walls by an oven, as he saw bakers around him do. He aimed to share his craft with the rest of the world. After attending baking school, participating in international competitions, and gaining many years of experience, Robèrt earned the titles of Master Pastry Chef (2010) and Master Baker (2013), the highest recognition within the baking industry. His achievements also grant him access to prestigious professional associations such as the Créateurs de Desserts and the Ambassadeurs du Pain.
Sharing knowledge and inspiring others are important pillars of Robèrt’s work. In his bakery in Oisterwijk, he showcases the versatility of the baking craft. Literally, as a 40-meter-long glass corridor allows visitors to see how he and his team create all products in an artisanal manner: from bakery and pastry to chocolate and confectionery. Through baking courses in his B’academie, his magazine Meesterlijk van Robèrt, and his online inspiration platform Meesterlijkvanrobert.nl, Robèrt increasingly brings his craft into people’s homes.
Since 2013, Robèrt has also shared his knowledge and skills through TV programs such as Heel Holland Bakt, CupCakeCup, and Tijd voor MAX, where he stands out for his expertise and friendly approach. In 2019 and 2021, Robèrt toured the country with his theater performance bij Robèrt, a theatrical food experience that offered the audience a glimpse into his baking life and a tasting of signature dishes.
