Reiner Calmund was born in 1948 in Brühl near Cologne and currently lives in Saarlouis. After studying business administration, he worked for nearly 30 years for Bayer 04 Leverkusen, transforming the “Gray Mouse” into a top international club. After 2004, Calmund dedicated himself to many voluntary (NRW Ambassador World Cup 2006, Ambassador Host-City Klagenfurt at Euro 2008) and social projects (including Board Member of the UNESCO Foundation, Patron of “Brave Children”) and launched a successful career as a keynote speaker, author, columnist, and blogger.
On TV, “Calli” shines as a witty judge on the VOX hit show “Grill den Henssler”, a clever contestant in celebrity quiz shows, and as a sought-after expert in many football formats. His project “Iron Calli” was awarded the “Health Media Award” and was extensively covered by TV channels RTL and VOX. With his autobiography published in 2008, “fußballbekloppt!”, he entered the “Spiegel” bestseller list just weeks after its release.
Three years later, he achieved the same feat again with the humorous culinary biography “Eine Kalorie kommt selten allein”.
