About Quintis Ristie

Quintis Ristie is an energetic, warm-hearted media professional who uses his talents, experience, and love for people to inspire young people and connect groups. He employs his charisma and humor in a very natural, open, and sincere manner. As a program maker, presenter, moderator, workshop facilitator, and actor, he succeeds in engaging people in a relaxed and approachable way regarding social issues. He is best known to the general public as a presenter and reporter on the television programs Raymann is laat and Echte Meisjes in de Jungle. Additionally, he has played roles in series such as SpangaS, Bureau van Speijk, and Camping Pernis, as well as in the films Kikkerdril and Alibi.

Colorful Harmony

As a young boy, he saw how his grandmother contributed to community and well-being in Suriname through social organizations. Quintis wanted to have that positive impact as well. After completing his studies in Journalism and Audiovisual Productions, he used his acquired position in the media to contribute to more harmony in diversity. First at Radio ABC in Suriname, and since then at various broadcasters in the Netherlands. At the same time, Quintis has been actively involved in social organizations (including Lions, Youth Volunteer Corps Suriname, Rotterdam Youth Council, and Foundation Quintiz) throughout the years. For the way Quintis addresses diversity and builds bridges between different groups, he received the Colors Award from the Rotterdam Youth Council in 2008.

Inspiring and Guiding Youth

Quintis passionately shares his extensive life experience in developing personal qualities and connecting people with new generations. To sustainably support young people in their development into conscious and empowered adults, Quintis founded the Foundation Quintiz. The foundation runs the Opportunity, Leadership and Experience (OLE) project, where young people aged 17 to 25 learn to organize their own projects. During the activities, the youth discover and develop their qualities, become acquainted with the larger society, and learn to make conscious choices about their position in society. Quintis devised the methodology and is actively involved in the implementation of the foundation’s projects.
