There are few (female) moderators and speakers who have themselves participated in the boardroom. Marianne Zwagerman draws from her own experience as a director in a large publicly traded company and as an independent entrepreneur in the conversations she conducts on stage. As an innovation strategist, Marianne Zwagerman helps and inspires people and companies to live and do business shamelessly and fearlessly. Additionally, she is a writer, columnist – including for BNR – and a sought-after media critic on the Radio 1 program De Ochtend, BNR, and WNL. Her specializations are innovation, the (public) broadcaster, newspapers, journalism, the internet, and social media.
Her socially critical columns and publications appear regularly in newspapers and magazines. The work of Marianne Zwagerman revolves around change. Knowing where you want to go and ensuring you get there is the common thread in her workshops and lectures. In her daily life, Zwagerman helps companies, especially media companies, to shape their future and successfully determine their path to that future. Translating dominant consumer trends into innovative business models, innovative content, and innovative ways to reach the consumer.
Ambition is another important theme in Zwagerman’s work. As a successful career woman, she was the first female director of the Telegraaf Media Groep – she wants to inspire women to make more of their working lives and to set the bar higher. In her book A webshop is not a career, escape from the bonnet paradise, she humorously provides women with practical advice on the way to a successful life, with a smile. At the Telegraaf Media Groep, Zwagerman was responsible as Director of Digital Media for all non-print activities in the Netherlands. For example, for more than 100 internet sites such as Speurders.nl, Geenstijl, and Relatieplanet.
Furthermore, she was the founder of the Telegraaf TV Production House, which used the knowledge of the Telegraaf organization to create TV programs for, among others, SBS, RTL, the TROS, and broadcaster Max. In that capacity, she took the initiative to establish the public broadcasters PowNed and WNL.
Before her career in the media world, Zwagerman was active as a Marketing and Sales manager at various companies in the automotive industry. A logical continuation of her education at the IVA in Driebergen. Marianne Zwagerman is available for inspiring, humorous, sometimes confrontational lectures and workshops on change, innovation, media, and ambition. Additionally, she is available as a critical, interested, well-informed moderator.
