Kirsten van den Hul is an experienced, multilingual author, speaker, and moderator. Until 2026, she was the director of DutchCulture, the Dutch network and knowledge organization for international cultural cooperation, and chair of EUNIC, EU National Institutes of Culture.
Until 2021, Kirsten was a Member of Parliament for the Labour Party, where she was involved in culture, education, empowerment, foreign trade, and development cooperation. Before that, she was active at the intersection of culture, human rights, and international cooperation, at various organizations, including the European Cultural Foundation and Mama Cash. She lived, studied, and worked in Tunisia and gained extensive experience in Eastern Europe and the MENA region. Previously, she was active as a UN women’s representative.
Kirsten worked as a columnist for various newspapers and magazines, contributed to several publications, and wrote a book titled (S)hevolution – the century of the woman. Her motto: without change, no butterflies!
