Daniel Mizere is a crisis communication expert and works as an author, political advisor and communication strategist. In his work, one question is central: how do leaders maintain control through crisis communication when a crisis unfolds?
In 2023, he published ‘The Language of Leaders: How Top Politicians Communicate‘ (in Dutch), analyzing how language, framing and timing can strengthen or undermine authority. As a spokesperson and strategic advisor in the Dutch House of Representatives, Daniel advised members of parliament and ministers on media relations, crisis situations and politically sensitive issues in the fast-paced environment of The Hague. Earlier in his career, he advised mayors and local executives on crisis communication and media training.
Alongside his civilian work, Daniel serves as a reserve officer with the 1 Civil-Military Interaction Command of the Royal Netherlands Army and has been deployed multiple times domestically and abroad. This military experience forms a key foundation of his approach to crisis communication: clear thinking, decision-making and communication under pressure.
His second book on crisis communications is expected to be published in 2026.
In his keynotes, Daniel shows how leaders maintain control in crisis situations where time is scarce, interests collide and public scrutiny is unavoidable. His talks offer sharp insights and practical guidance for leaders and communication professionals who must perform under pressure. Daniel studied English, French and Dutch linguistics at KU Leuven and journalism and media studies at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
