Mr. Reimers doesn't mince words. Neatly dressed in a suit, always with a pocket square and colorful glasses, the strict yet engaging hotelier explains how things should be done.
After graduating cum laude from what is now the Steigenberger Hotel Management School, Willem Reimers’ career began in Switzerland: Arosa Kulm Hotel, Seiler Hotels Zermatt, Buergenstock Hotels, and Grand Hotel Beau Rivage in Interlaken.
In 1973, Willem Reimers returned to the Netherlands. He started at the Strandhotel Prinses Juliana on Texel and transformed this hotel in eight years from a seasonal business to a year-round operation. He then spent three years as F&B Manager at Novotel Amsterdam and Director of Novotel Schiedam (138 rooms). Following this, he was Director of Sofitel The Hague (144 rooms) and spent nine years as Director of Novotel Amsterdam (611 rooms). He concluded his active hotel career as Director of The Grand (a five-star luxury hotel with 180 rooms and 19 meeting rooms).
In 2005, Willem Reimers founded Reimers Hotel Consultancy. He successfully collaborated with Herman den Blijker. Since 2007, he has been co-presenter of successful television programs such as Havoc in the Hotel, My Tent is Top, Havoc XXL, Booming in the Hospitality Industry, Havoc in Hotel Spaander, and Havoc in De Druiventros.
Since 2017, Willem Reimers has also been an ambassador for the Senior-OK Quality Mark. The Senior Interests Quality Mark Foundation advocates for the interests and independence of seniors. “Companies that have the Senior-OK Quality Mark understand what seniors need and have been vetted,” according to Willem Reimers.
Willem Reimers is someone who knows how to take action and inspires others to do the same. Additionally, he is a true expert in etiquette, which is important not only in the hospitality industry but also in the business world. Finally, Willem Reimers has extensive experience in marketing and sales, as his hotels did not become successful on their own. Willem Reimers provides lectures, corporate training, and masterclasses in his areas of expertise.
