About Surya Gayet

Dr. Surya Gayet is a cognitive neuroscientist, experimental psychologist at Utrecht University, and TEDx speaker. He investigates human consciousness, attention, perception, and memory. Over the past decade, he has published more than 40 scientific articles, measuring eye movements, behavior, and brain activity (functional MRI and electroencephalography) in humans. His goal is to unravel one of the greatest mysteries of the mind: how electrical signals in our brains lead to a conscious experience of the world around us.

In his lectures, he pulls the ground from under the audience’s feet by demonstrating how 99% of our conscious experiences are created on the spot by your brain. Everything you experience is nothing more (but also nothing less) than a narrative based on assumptions and experiences.
