Author of the book 'Employees as Online Ambassadors'
Before Stéphan Lam launched his own company in 2017, he worked for nearly 10 years at Microsoft Netherlands. There, as an online strategist, he defined the social media strategy, among other things. He recognized early on that, in addition to the use of corporate channels and campaigns, the online activity of employees is a crucial component when it comes to the visibility of an organization. With the launch of Windows 8, he initiated a program where employees actively engaged in relevant conversations with customers using ’employee-generated content’. The result: a more positive attitude towards the Microsoft brand.
Now, Stéphan Lam guides organizations in maximizing the use of employees as ambassadors, aiming to achieve business objectives such as attracting new employees, increasing sales, or improving reputation.
Stéphan Lam outlines the strategy and oversees the execution of these ‘Employee Advocacy’ programs. He also provides personal guidance for management, ensuring they can effectively profile themselves in the boardroom and thus demonstrate ‘online’ leadership.
In 2018, his book ‘Employees as Online Ambassadors’ was published, in which he describes how organizations can smartly network and communicate with existing and new customers via social media together with passionate employees, recruit new employees, and even exert influence on the market.
Additionally, Stéphan Lam is one of the first six Twitter users in the Netherlands, a trainer and blogger at the leading marketing & communication educator (Frankwatching), and a speaker. With his refreshing perspective on the phenomenon of social media, he captivates the audience without exception.
