Ruben Baart is an editor, journalist, and moderator. He operates at the intersection of art, science, and technology. Trained as a new media thinker, Ruben feels at home with topics such as digital technology, innovation, robotics, and societal change.
Currently, he works as editor-in-chief at Next Nature Network, a futurist platform centered around the idea that our technological environment becomes so complex, ubiquitous, intimate, and autonomous that we begin to experience it as a nature in itself. In addition to Next Nature Network, he works as a consultant and guest lecturer.
In 2018, he edited two books: 50 Products from the Future (in collaboration with Next Nature Network) and Future Food (in collaboration with Chloé Rutzerveld). Additionally, he has given lectures on various international stages including Fifteen Seconds Festival (AT), MCE Conference (PL), and Border Sessions (NL).
As a future optimist, his goal is to engage the audience in the fascinating developments surrounding technological advancement, and he believes that by looking at the world differently, we can achieve a more humane future.
