Maartje Jansen (Wolff) is not only an enthusiastic speaker but also an advisor, trainer, author, and organizational anthropologist. She has worked for organizations such as Bijenkorf, Aroundtown, Bam Infrastructuur, Lidl, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and trained professionals from Tony’s Chocolonely, Hollands Kroon, Ministry of Defence, and Facilicom to become Work Happiness Experts and Positive Culture Agents.
In her lectures, she combines research and scientific insights from, among others, positive psychology with her own work experience and practical tips. Because insights are great, but without action, nothing happens. She can inspiringly talk about everything related to organizational behavior, culture, and change. Consider topics such as: What is a positive work culture and how do you make it practical? Stress and work happiness are two sides of the same coin! How do you create more job satisfaction and work happiness together? How do you use the power of purpose and storytelling for change? From vision and values to behavior, create a manifesto! How do you make behavior change lasting? How do you get people moving? And Positive Leadership!
At the end of the comfort zone is where the magic starts.
Together with Fennande van der Meulen, she wrote the book The Happy Office Manifesto, the four pillars of a positive work culture. In it, they not only explain what you can do to build a positive work culture but also how to do it. As an individual, team, leader, and organization. The book has the same practical approach that is characteristic of the workshops, lectures, and keynotes that Maartje gives. The book was nominated for Management Book of the Year 2021. The book was also published in English in 2022.
To put the topic of work happiness and a positive work culture on the agenda of as many organizations as possible, to get people to take action themselves, and to create a movement, Fennande and Maartje declared the last week of September as The International Week of Happiness at Work. A do-it-yourself movement that is not only followed in the Netherlands but has now spread to more than sixty countries.
In addition to an academic background in management and communication (she studied Culture Organization and Management at VU and Communication at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences), Maartje completed the Happiness Yield program at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She then took the Team Coach training at the Happy Work Academy and the Chief Happiness Officer training at the Woohoo Academy in Copenhagen. And by the end of 2024, she will complete the College Series on Cultural Change at Nyenrode Business University.
