Klaus-Peter Schöppner is one of the most renowned pollsters in Germany. Since 1991, he has been the Managing Director of the Emnid Institute for Political and Social Research.
From 1968 to 1973, Schöppner studied psychology, business administration, and journalism at the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster. From 1973 to 1975, he was a scholarship holder of the RKW, Frankfurt, in the training program “Qualified Market Researchers”, which he completed in 1975. From 1975 to 1990, he was a study director, department head of political and social research, and finally deputy managing director at the Emnid Institute before becoming the managing director of EMNID in 1991. In this capacity, Schöppner moderated his own Emnid show on n-tv for almost ten years starting in 1995 and has been active at N24 since then.
Klaus-Peter Schöppner is one of the main authors of the author blog CARTA, which received the Grimme Online Award in 2009.
In his insightful and engaging lectures, Schöppner brilliantly presents and explains political and social contexts in an entertaining and comprehensible manner. As the managing director of the Emnid Institute, he is well-versed in the world of politics and media and knows how the citizen ‘ticks’.
