In future-proof organizations, young and old strengthen each other, thereby optimizing everyone’s strengths. Leveraging generation diversity increases the agility, creativity, and work energy of all employees! In this rapidly changing world, this is indispensable. Kim always seeks interaction with participants/audiences and aims for everyone to leave the room inspired and high-fiving.
The world has never been moving as fast as it is now. The rapidly changing world demands a new perspective on work. This applies to both individuals and organizations to be agile and continuously renew themselves. And this renewal must be done with 5 generations in the workplace. More than ever! Generations differ in mentality, motivations, and working methods. Especially the younger Generation Y and Z have a distinctly different view of work. Working from 9 to 5 is outdated, compensation must be transparent, personal development should be tailored, and managers are expected to practice coaching leadership. This is not always easy, especially in a time of aging workforces and outdated organizational patterns.
Participants/audiences are taken interactively into the world of the 5 generations in the workplace. They get to know the different generations and their own visions, norms, and behavior patterns. Kim Jansen engages with the participants/audiences on the following questions: What are the characteristics of the generations? Where is the gap? Where are the opportunities to build bridges, strengthen each other, and utilize each other’s qualities? What does each generation need to excel, and how can you connect all generations in the workplace?
Participants are challenged to translate this to themselves and their organization and what they can do with it in practice. The result: insight into generational differences, increased mutual understanding, awareness, and ideas to bridge the gap and apply generation management in their own organization or team. In the long term, the goal is: engaged and involved employees, synergistic collaboration, attractive employer, innovative products, up-to-date business model, loyal customers, and a strong market position.
Kim Jansen is a social psychologist and a certified trainer. Since 2005, Kim has been working at the intersection of HR, research, and training. She tailors the content, format, and tone of the program to the goal and desired outcome. This creates support and motivation among the audience to continue working on the theme even after the session.
In 2024, her book ‘The Generation Effect’ will be published, in which she – just like on stage – addresses this current theme in a practical manner. What can you do tomorrow?
