About Christian Makarian
Born in September 1957, a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies in Paris and holding a Diploma of Advanced Studies in the history of international relations from Paris 1 Sorbonne University, Christian Makarian was a reporter at RTL (1980-1982) before joining the magazine Le Point in 1984 as a journalist in the Political department. Appointed head of the Political department in 1987, he became a senior reporter and head of the Society department at Le Point in 1992. He joined L’Express in 1999, where he held the position of Deputy Editor, responsible for major coverage issues, special issues, major debates of ideas, and overseeing the World department. Since October 2006, he has been the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of L’Express and writes a weekly column dedicated to foreign policy and international issues. Within the Editorial Team, he is responsible for major themes of reflection, monitoring intellectual life, and cultural approaches to current events. Christian Makarian is a regular contributor on radio and television platforms. He has notably been a consultant on i
