About Catherine Maunoury

Catherine Maunoury stands out in the art of aerobatics. Her calling, encouraged by her father, a pilot doctor, leads her to the highest level of competition: she accumulates titles at the French, European, and World Championships and consistently ranks among the best female pilots worldwide.

Licensed as a pilot since the age of 17 and holding a degree in philosophy, Catherine Maunoury has been a two-time world champion in aerobatics and a ten-time French champion.

She is a member of the Academy of Air and Space, the heritage commission of the AéroClub de France, and the Ader network, part of the citizen reserve of the Air Force.

After winning her second world championship in 2000, twelve years after her first title, through training and perseverance in motivation, drawing on her experience managing long-haul crews at Air France, she decided to stop competing to focus on coaching pilots, aerial presentations, and sharing her experience through conferences and various interventions. The qualities she has been able to implement in her various fields of expertise and excellence are they not required today in professional corporate life and, ultimately, in daily life?

In September 2010, she was chosen by the Minister of Defense to lead the Air and Space Museum, one of the first aeronautical museums in the world, with nearly 400 aircraft in its collection, of which 150 are on display, the only one to discuss aerostation, airplanes, and space.

Catherine Maunoury is the author of two books: “The Strange Happiness of Flying” published by Éditions du Cherche-Midi and “The Wisdom of the Aviatrix” published by Éditions JC Behar.
