About Bennie Mols
Bennie Mols is an independent science journalist, author, speaker, and moderator with 25 years of experience. He specializes in artificial intelligence and robotics and has written more than 700 popular science articles for various media outlets (including ACM News, EU Science Media Hub and the Dutch national newspaper NRC Handelsblad). He has been writing and speaking about artificial intelligence since 2010, long before the subject became trending. He gives presentations for companies, governments, universities, non-profit organizations, and the general public. His lectures stand out because he not only shows where AI excels, but also what makes humans unique – and how humans and AI can complement and strengthen each other.
He has published thirteen books, including Slim, slimmer, slimst (2023, about AI), Hallo robot (2017, translated into English and Chinese), Robotics for Future Presidents (2016), and Turings Tango (2012, about AI). He regularly appears on Dutch radio and TV to talk about artificial intelligence and robots. He has a degree in physics and philosophy and a PhD in physics.
With this background, he uniquely combines science, technology, and philosophy, always asking how the combination of these three disciplines can improve people’s lives.

He also took part in an official Turing test in London in 2014, the first for which a computer was successful. In November 2014, the film ‘The imitation game’ premiered in the Netherlands, about life and work by Alan Turing.
