Dr. Axel Hagedorn knows the differences like no one else and is an expert on German-Dutch relations. It is a fascinating topic, especially since Germany is the largest trading partner of the Netherlands.

Born and raised in Germany, he studied law in Göttingen and earned his doctorate magna cum laude. In 1996, he successfully completed his studies in Culture, Organization, and Management at the Free University of Amsterdam. Axel Hagedorn has lived and worked in Amsterdam for over 30 years. He specializes in (international) commercial law with a focus on German-Dutch trade and M&A. Axel Hagedorn therefore speaks from the perspective of a former German and Dutch lawyer. His experience as chairman of the medium-sized law firm Van Diepen Van der Kroef Advocaten and in other roles is of great benefit.

Axel Hagedorn was chairman of the German-Dutch Lawyers’ Association (DNRV) for ten years.

He has shared his knowledge as a speaker at various events, including the Germany Day of the German-Dutch Chamber of Commerce. He has also led various symposiums such as the German-Dutch Lawyers’ Day.

Axel Hagedorn not only speaks but also writes. During his professorship for German-Dutch legal relations at the University of Amsterdam, he co-authored the German-language standard work “Dutch Commercial Law”.
He gained international recognition due to several publicly noted and successful legal cases.
