Prof. Dr. Andrea Römmele is a Professor of Communication in Politics and Civil Society at the Hertie School of Governance. She studied political science, history, and art history at the universities of Heidelberg and Berkeley. In 1994, she received her doctorate from the University of Heidelberg and completed her habilitation at the Free University of Berlin in 2001. Before Prof. Römmele took up a professorship in Communication and Media Management at the International University of Bruchsal in 2003, she was a project manager at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research, where she gained teaching and research experience between 1998 and 2002. At the University of Bruchsal, she also led the Bachelor’s program in International Communication Management. Prof. Römmele is the author of numerous academic books and articles, as well as the editor of the “Journal for Policy Advice”.
Andrea Römmele was the “Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Modern German Studies 2012/13” at the University of California in Santa Barbara (UCSB).
