About André Troost

André Troost is difficult to categorize. He is a speaker, but more of an entertainer. A cabaret artist, but more of a theater maker. A retail thinker, but broader than retail. A professional customer, but more of a mystery guest. An advertiser, but more of a concept thinker. Let’s just call him a cabaret-style speaker with a big retail heart. His lectures are anecdotal and interactive; leaning back is not an option during his performance.

André works from action and reaction, and from human logic and passion. He does not operate from rules, regulations, tricks, and management books. The human factor is the most decisive: “More revenue AND enjoyment by stopping… selling.”

From his commercial thinking as a concept creator/art director (80s/90s) through theater programs about sales and corporate cultures (90s to now), he has grown into the entertainer he is today.

André speaks the language of the workforce, but also of the manager. He does not beat around the bush, he reflects the results of the mystery guest visits he conducts (if desired) beforehand. Sometimes ‘to the point’, but always with a smile, abrasive but never offensive. An hour of entertainment, with a much-needed message. The lecture is meant to make you laugh, learn AND… it is interactive. And yes… They are always tailor-made performances, because your customer also wants to be served in a tailored manner.

This topic is offered in theatre form, where actors improvisationally play the provided material and participants dissect their own culture in commentary form. This is a reflective and educational process. With lots of laughter and indeed… sometimes tears.

Kick-off moment, cultural vision, away day… Around the fire, stories emerge, we become vulnerable, what seemed unspoken is said and sung. Custom-made songs, whether or not created on the spot, greatly aid the thought process.
