Pierre-Cyrille Hautoceur is a research director at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) and a professor of economic history at the Paris School of Economics. He has worked on financial and monetary history since the 18th century from both a microeconomic perspective (history of corporate financing, history of bankruptcies, history of banking crises) and a macroeconomic perspective (public debts, inflation, taxation). About Pierre-Cyrille Hautcoeur

Pierre-Cyrille Hautoceur is a research director at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) and a professor of economic history at the Paris School of Economics.

He has worked on financial and monetary history since the 18th century from both a microeconomic perspective (history of corporate financing, history of bankruptcies, history of banking crises) and a macroeconomic perspective (public debts, inflation, taxation).

Among his publications in French: The French Financial Market in the 19th Century, Sorbonne Publications, 2007; The Crisis of 1929, La Découverte, 2009.

Pierre-Cyrille Hautoceur has also held responsibilities as an advisor to the Director of Research (Ministry of Research), head of the Foundation of the École Normale Supérieure, advisor to the Director of the Paris School of Economics, and a member of the board of EHESS.

He has taught and stayed in Spain, Portugal, and the United States.
