About Rama Yade

Belonging to the “new generation” of politicians in France, Rama Yade is one of the most favored political figures among the French. Younger than some of her predecessors and elders, Rama Yade nonetheless has an extremely rich experience and background.

Graduating in 2000 from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, she began her political career in the Senate. From 2002 to 2007, she served as an Administrator and was involved in the Commission for Social Affairs, responsible for labor law, employment, and professional training. She was also seconded to the Public Senate Channel, first as Deputy Director of Programs, then as Director of Communication. Since 2007, she has been on leave, then on vacation from the Senate.

From 2007 to 2010, Rama Yade was a member of the Fillon government; first as Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Human Rights, then as Secretary of State for Sports. Since 2008, Rama Yade has been elected to the Municipal Council of Colombes and since 2009, she has also been a regional councilor for Île-de-France.

Rama Yade also served as Ambassador of France to UNESCO from January to July 2011, before becoming Director of a Parisian consulting firm in November 2011.
